Local award winning writer and CSU professor John Calderazzo and visiting poet Tim Mayo will give a benefit reading for the Bas Bleu Theatre.

John Calderazzo is the author of Writing from Scratch: Freelancing and Rising Fire: Volcanoes & Our Inner Lives.  His articles and essays have appeared in Audubon, Georgia Review, North American Review, Orion and dozens of other journals and anthologies.  Calderazzo and his wife, Sue Ellen Campbell, currently direct the multidisciplinary Changing Climates @ CSU, which helps scientists and scholars communicate with the public and policy makers.  He will be reading from his recently finished collection of poems, At the Night Window.

Tim Mayo holds degrees from Harvard University and Bennington College. His poems and reviews have appeared or will appear in Atlanta Review, Avatar Review, 5 AM, Poetry International, Poet Lore, The Worcester Review, Verse Daily and Garrison Keillor’s The Writer’s Almanac.  He is the author of two collections of poetry, The Loneliness of Dogs and The Kingdom of Possibilities. Recently, he was a finalist for the 2009 Paumanok Award. He is a former member of the Brattleboro Literary Festival and a Vermont Studio Center Fellow.  He will read from new works and The Kingdom of Possibilities.

The reading will take place on Monday, March 29 at 7:30 pm at the home of Douglas and Wendy Ishii (Bas Bleu Artistic Director), 3301 Rawhide Drive, Laporte, CO 80535. Refreshments will be served.  All donations will benefit the $1.5M Bas Bleu capital campaign which is at the very cusp of reaching its goal.
