Wendy Ishii is founding artistic director of Bas Bleu Theatre Company and a retired Teacher of Acting at Colorado State University. She moved to Fort Collins from NYC, where she performed principal roles in theatre, film, commercials, and daytime television. Her resume encompasses over 250 roles from the classical and contemporary repertories. Ishii has been the recipient of numerous acting awards including top honors from The Denver Post Ovation Awards, True West, Westword, Fort Collins Coloradoan, Colorado Community Theatre Coalition, American Association of Community Theatre, International Telly Awards, BIZ WEST, Notable Non-Profit Women, and the Colorado Theatre Guild’s 2018 Henry Award for Lifetime Achievement. By invitation, performances at international festivals and conferences have taken Ishii to Australia, Great Britain, Canada, Israel, South Africa, and Northern Ireland, and nationally to theatres in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and Arizona. Her work in Samuel Beckett’s plays has been noted in several books, articles, journals, academic papers, and international media, and is included in the Beckett Archives in Reading, UK. Under Ishii’s leadership, in 2012 Bas Bleu, became the pioneer of what is now the burgeoning Fort Collins River District, and completed a $1.5M phase one capital campaign to purchase and renovate the historic Giddings Building as its permanent home.

Steve spent twenty-two seasons as a program coordinator for student choral and instrumental concerts at Carnegie Hall, working with young musicians, educators, and conductors from all fifty states. He is also the founder of the Perkasie Theatre Company who helped revitalize the Kraine Theater in Manhattan’s East Village and was a resident company at the Sanford Meisner Theatre in pre-Highline Chelsea.

Tricia Navarre began her theater career in North Carolina in the 1970’s, did Summer Stock with the Green Mountain Guild in Vermont and toured with the Frank Holder Dance Company. In 1980, Tricia continued her career in Ohio as a Stage Manager for the Toledo Repertoire Theatre. In 1992, Tricia and her husband Paul, moved to Colorado where they owned and operated a B&B lodge just outside the Rocky Mountain National Park — as Tricia says, “A whole different type of production!” A move to Fort Collins in 2002, led to her employment at Bas Bleu Theatre where she served as its Production Manager until her retirement in 2017. Although technically retired, Tricia continues to be involved in the local performing arts community as a Production Manager and Stage Manager as well as occasionally being on the staff for Lincoln Center productions.

Christine Hogg is an artist and designer based in Fort Collins. Through experiences in the arts, travel, language learning, and a career in education, she developed a commitment to creating spaces for open dialogue and honest communication. She has exhibited her work locally and internationally, participated as an artist-in-residence at Guapamacátaro Art & Ecology Center and Wolverine Farm and is a published poet. She volunteers with KRFC 88.9 FM and GuloGulo Poetry Collective to help grow ongoing local initiatives that strengthen our community through the arts. She has a BA from Hendrix College and an MAT from the University of Arkansas.

Tanya Bergstrom specializes in helping small businesses thrive by assuring quality bookkeeping. She is the owner of In the Black Bookkeeping,

Peter Bachand is a long-time Fort Collins local, and a multidisciplinary artist. He is driven by a passion for arts for social change and presenting meaningful works. As a disabled artist and performer himself, Peter is devoted to accessibility in the arts whether onstage, offstage or in the audience. He realizes this dream through his mutual aid organization Cripple Punk Alliance which works to uplift disabled performers, educate on disability issues and advocate for accessibility in third spaces. Having grown up in the Fort Collins theatre scene, Peter I rooted in community and excited to take on his new role as Box Office and Front of House Manager here at Bas Bleu Theatre Company. Lorée Beamer is an award-winning speaker and workshop facilitator whose passion for connection and joy has taken her to stages and seminar rooms around the world. She believes wholeheartedly that every day deserves a soundtrack — and that life is always better as a musical. Her love of theater runs deep. Lorée served on the board of a local community theater, where she wore many hats as a director, producer, and actor across a wide range of productions — from laugh-filled murder mysteries to imaginative children’s theater. Some of her favorite roles include playing M’Lynn in Steel Magnolias and Liat in South Pacific. Outside of the theater, Lorée draws inspiration from both the studio and the trail. She loves painting — especially watercolor and mixed-media work — and finds equal joy paddleboarding on open water or hiking through nature. For Lorée, creativity and the outdoors are two sides of the same coin: both a way of slowing down, paying attention, and finding beauty in the world around her. She believes deeply that the arts are essential to a full and enriched life, and she is thrilled to bring that spirit to Bas Bleu Theatre.

James Brookman (Technical Direction and Design) is a multi-awarded scenic designer, builder and painter from Fort Collins. Bringing his 40+ years in performance arts and industries, James is happy to contribute to the Bas Bleu Experience. James' credits in recent years include designs for scores of local and regional productions and events. A 26 year member of IATSE local 229, James retired as a stage mechanic in 2025. James has received entertainment industry specific OSHA training. Motto: "The brightest scene begins and ends in the dark."
